Mobilising Mountains Ministry Training Strategy

MTS 2007 image What is MTS?

The Ministry Training Strategy was established 28 years ago to train young men and women for Christian Ministry. It provides on-the-job training in local churches around Australia. Hundreds have been trained and are now in preaching, pastoral and ministry work around the world. Fourteen have so far trained with us.

What is 'Mobilising Mountains MTS'?

Our training centre is Springwood and Winmalee Anglican Churches (SWAC), located in the Blue Mountains. Our trainees participate in various training events, e.g. AIM National Training Days, Youthworks and Challenge Conferences. They are encouraged to participate in other ministries, such as Beach Mission, camps and conferences. Trainees come from inside and outside the Parish to train with us.

What support is provided?

Trainees receive a scholarship from MMMTS (and often a training allowance). They have full access to MTS office and training staff. Our MMMTS senior staff provide weekly supervision, training, pastoral support and feedback.

How is MMMTS funded?

MMMTS is underwritten by SWAC but relies on individual supporters. Over 10 years, we have been trained p/t and f/t trainees at a cost of more than $196,000. In 2008, we need to raise $30,000 to fund our trainees.

Bible College and f/t ministry?

All of our graduates seriously consider this option. However, their first priority is to be trained for ministries immediately at hand, and then to look for God's leading after that. MMMTS is an important preparation for whatever direction they take.
