What we believe

We believe Christianity is unique among all the world's religions

"So do all the others", you might say, "isn't it arrogant or naive to believe this?" Christians aren't free from fault nor claim to be cleverer than others, but it's not irrational to believe Christianity alone is right because of 3 things:

* Our unique founder.     

 Jesus Christ claimed to be God come to earth (John 14:6-7); God who came to die for people who had tried to run their lives without Him and had blown it (Mark 10:45).
Can you think of any other religious leader who made these claims...and lived up to His claims?

* Our unique message.

90% of the world's population realise a creator exists and that their relationship with Him is tragically broken. The answer of all the major world religions to this universal human problem is for people to get religious, carry out certain religious ceremonies or to try hard to make up for the wrong they have done. The Christian message is the opposite. Jesus teaches us that He's made a way back to God based on His merit, not ours. His sacrifice, not ours, can forgive our sin. God's total acceptance is possible by trusting Jesus, not by trying hard.
Can you think of any other religion that comes close to this?

* Our unique experience.

Christian experience of God is different to any other. What other religious experience comes close to knowing God as your heavenly Father, not some remote god, but as your perfect "dad"? Here at S.W.A.C. we've experienced God's full forgiveness; His Holy Spirit living in us…changing and empowering us; and God's created his supernatural bond of family that's made us brothers and sisters — not in some vague way but in a down to earth loving care.
